Fall Update

Good afternoon Highwood Band Families,

With November well underway now, we wanted to send out an update as to things going on in the program.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies:

We are very much looking forward to our annual participation in both the Highwood and Town of High River Remembrance Ceremonies. Here are the important details for each event:

Friday Nov. 7 - Ceremony at 10:30am; Family and community members welcome

Tuesday Nov.11 - Town of High River Ceremony starts at 10:45am

-the school will be accessible for equipment and instrument pickup between 9:45-10am. Trucks and vans will be needed for the transfer of percussion and large equipment. Thank you in advance!

-Please meet at the Memorial Centre in uniform (with poppy) no later than 10:15am

-the ceremony usually is complete by noon on that day

Pre-Pak Meats Fundraiser:

We will be running a Pre-Pak meats fundraiser starting the week after November break. These funds can be used for spring travel this year or other program costs. More info will be provided on this soon.

Winter Concert

Our annual Winter Concert with Regional Band Students and Highwood Students will be taking place on Monday, December 15th at 7:00 PM. We look forward to sharing a selection of the music students have been working on since September, as well as some Holiday Favorites. Admission is by donation to the Food Bank (non-perishable food items).

Course Fees, Rental Forms

By now, all students should have paid their course fees and instrument rental fees. We had also sent home a QR code for students to complete their instrument rental forms. We are missing quite a few of these, so please remind your son or daughter to have these brought home and completed.

As well, if your son or daughter attended Band Camp in September, please ensure the fee for this has been paid via edsembli.
