February Update

Good evening Highwood Band Families!

Things are off to a roll with Semester Two now and the band room has been a busy, busy place. Our Highwood Musicians are off to Camp SABC this week and the week after February Break to act as Student Mentors to future Highwood musicians from Senator Riley, Cayley and Blackie schools.

We have also sent out permission forms and communications regarding our tour to Edmonton to perform at the Alberta International Band Festival. Please check your inbox to ensure you have received this information. All forms and the $325 payment are due back no later than February 28th. There will be a brief parent info meeting after Symphonic Band on Wednesday, March 5th.

For students travelling to Anaheim, please note that the final payment (minus fund raised dollars) will be coming out of your accounts on February 15th. At this point, all student Passport Information should have been submitted. We will be sending out the official consent forms as well as forms that are required for travelling internationally with minors (these will need to be notarized), the week after February Break. Please stay tuned for the date of the parent meeting for Anaheim as it will be some time in March.

Last but not least, please ensure your child is bringing home their instrument regularly to solidify the concepts we have been working on in class. With festival season well underway, it is vital that all students are refining their music to ensure we have success in Edmonton and Anaheim.
